Fuel Biocells

Using nanomaterials and nanostructured surfaces,  electrodes to improve efficiency in electricity production from bacterial microorganisms used as biocatalysts are designed and manufactured. Biomass for energy production is obtained from wastewater. This type of device allows cleaning-up of contaminated water with energy production.

Micro Fuel Cells

The Center is working to develop  of micro fuel cells to provide power to devices that require autonomy. These micro cells are configured to be implemented in mobile autonomous systems and sensors.

Nanostructured Filters

From natural precursors and nanomaterials produced by green synthesis, filters for implementation in systems for  remediation of water affected by emerging contaminants, heavy metals and metalloids are being designed and manufactured.

Coatings

Using green synthesis, the development of superhydrophobic, anti-pollution  and self-cleaning coatings for all types of surfaces are being developed.

Colloidal Nanoparticles

The Center produces a wide variety of  colloidal nanoparticles with control over the shape, morphology, size and composition.

The center offers for research and sustainable and responsible development, nanoparticles manufactured with high quality standards and environmentally friendly production.

Green Synthesis of Nanomaterials

One of the strategic lines of research is the identification of new precursors, reducers and stabilizers of natural origin for the development of green synthetic methods for the production of nanomaterials with low environmental impact and sustainability. The life cycle and impact of the products obtained, as well as the methods developed, are carefully studied.
