Science and Engineering of Nanoparticles 

The Center works in  the development of novel green synthetic methods for production of nanoparticles. The life cycle and its impact on living things and the environment of the nanoparticles are investigated. 

Super-hydrophobic and photocatalytic nanomaterials for self-cleaning and depolluting coatings  are investigated. Through natural metaphors, structures and coatings are designed with structural color properties.

The Center investigates synthetic routes for the production of complex colloidal nanoparticles with control over size, shape and composition.

Design and  implementation of nanoparticles for potential applications in medical diagnostic  and treatment, environmental monitoring/remediation,  and efficient and clean energy production.

Energy production from remediation of contaminated water

With control in the distribution of atomic components, structures with catalytic ability to improve the efficiency of fuel cells and biocells for remediation of wastewater with energy production are being developed.

Green Synthesis of Nanomaterials

The conventional methods for nanomaterials synthesis are carried out using chemical precursors, reducing and stabilizers. However, that are potentially harmful to the environment and living things. The Center investigates the development of new methods for production of nanomaterials using green synthesis. Precursors, reducing and stabilizers agents are derivatives of agro-industrial waste and plant extracts.

New materials are investigated for the design and optimization of nanosensors.
